'Be the Light' - Matthew 5:14-16 // Belmont Shore, CA
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matt. 5:14-16 | NIV)
This past weekend was our Youth retreat and it was our first retreat with the new members as well as new leaders. I have nothing else to say, but that this weekend reminded me of how blessed I am to have such a fine group of people in my life and how comforting it is to know that God's light will always be there even through the darkest times.
A sample of how all of our name tags looked for this theme's retreat. The house was very cozy minus the entire 'being too loud' situation with the neighbors, but God is good and that didn't stop us from continuing our retreat in peace!!
There was so much that we did and it couldn't have gone any better. So so SO proud of each and every one of the members in this group and even the leaders. My heart is so full of warmth and happiness, because I am able to see how much each and every one of us grew closer to one another as a Youth Group and as individuals with our relationship with Christ. It really is amazing to see how much growth has happened in our youth group and I know God will continue to shine His bright light among us through the tough times this year; but it's okay, because we have each other to bring each other up for encouragement!

This retreat is one to always remember. Love this Youth Group that I call family! Always surround yourself with people who give you good vibes, who don't make you feel unworthy, and who always know how to have a fun time. Everything just feels right with this group and I'm ever so grateful to God for blessing me with these awesome peeps.
